Stage 9: October 2, 2017 - Almeida to Pinhel
Our Camino has come to an end - on doctor's orders. Pauline had been feeling unusually breathless at
times and it wasn't always associated with exertion. We decided to drop into the small hospital here in Pinhel. Blood pressure and ECG readings were all OK but the doctor gave her a prescription and said no more walking.

Given Pauline's condition we earlier decided that the walk from Almeida to Pinhel was too much and so we took a taxi for part of the journey.
Our plan now is to have a nice leisurely holiday by taking buses as far as Braga and then to head for home in about two weeks. We walked 131km, enjoyed the the places we visited and the people we met. Our disappointment is tempered by the knowledge that we will no longer be enduring sore legs and feet on steep hills at the end of long hot days.
